September 5th, 2019 Junior Class Administrative Assistant Position Assessment: Being on the junior officer team we have done a lot in preparation for up and coming events. Such as, We have met with our class advisor (Mayfield) to get the venue for prom booked in advanced. The junior class officer team has also accomplished t-shirt presales for class shirts. I personally worked one of the days at pow wow and then worked two days during the week of club rush. Personally in the month of August I have worked the club rush BBQ, As well as bringing awareness to the events that are going on at RHS through the use of social media.
Standing Committee: My current standing committee is the Renaissance/Link Crew. This committee has not done much yet, but we have events in the works. There has only been a couple of link crew events that have been put on. Such as, back to school night and freshman orientation. Now renaissance has just begun, all we have is the papers that the students fill out for the cards, we plan to get to work on those here within the next week or two.
Special Committee: I was a part of the black light rally and must I say that it was a huge success. The whole committee came together to put on an amazing rally that the whole school got behind and had a good time.
Concern: One major concern that I have is our time-management skills. I heard from students last year that they were very stressed out with everyday type of tasks. Now we are adding a whole new curriculum to the whole thing with a book and attached work book. I’m just nervous and fearful that things won’t be done to the best of their ability that it can be.
Positive Comment: This is going to the one and only Natile Betoshana. She did an absolutely amazing job with the black light rally and organizing the whole thing. Everybody that was in the committee knew exactly what to do because Natalie was on top of everything. She did a great job delegating the work and not just taking it all out. She is absolutely amazing!
One Change: One change that I would like to see happen is Admins thought process of how we run things. The admins expect us to have things planned months in advance, though we do they expect us to have everything in a neat little pile where nothing is going to go wrong. But in all honesty things are going to happen that we didn’t plan for and we just have to roll with it. My Impact: One impact that I have made is passing out smiles. I always try to make people laugh and feel good about everything. Whether that be me cracking a joke just hanging out with people. This just makes me feel good to know that I was able to have a good/positive outcome on someones day.
ASB report September & October
Administrative Assistant (jr.) 10-23-19
Through my position I am supposed to take all of the class notes and minutes, as well as be aware of the budget for the class. I feel that I’ve accomplished this to the best of my ability. I’ve asked questions to better myself and my work. Through my Job the Junior class has had three meetings with our adviser as well as the class as a whole. I took notes on when the meeting started, when it ended and what was covered in the meeting. All of these notes have been shared with the junior class officers and the Activities director. My standing committee is the renaissance cards. I work directly with lydia and troy to fulfill my job. This committee is in charge of the entire Renaissance reward program, so that means that we take care of all the block R’s and renaissance cards. This committee is very active during the times that renaissance is open to apply. Which means we are very busy during the end/beginning of the quarter. The Last quarter went very well everyone got their items that is if they were here. If you aren’t here on the day that everything is passed then you must talk to the Activities Director to get your items. Troy and Lydia are very good at distributing the workload so it just makes everything work very smooth. My special committee is the fall sports senior night committee and the tri-tip dinner. The fall senior nights have been going very well to my knowledge. I haven’t been present at every single senior night due to practice but the ones that I have been to they have gone very smooth and have been executed to a high standard. Knowing that I haven’t been able to go to the senior nights I’ve communicated through the group chat we have that I’m not going to be there or I’ve talked to Natalie to let her know that I’m not going to be there. Now the Tri-tip fundraiser, I sold all of my tickets for the dinner and communicated to Asb that I will not be at the dinner to help clean up or anything due to prior commitments. The concern that I would like to address is the communication barrier between everyone, Maybe this is just me but I almost feel as though there isn’t enough communication between the class and between Asb to the class. This may just be me but I’ve noticed a lot of confusion throughout the class as a whole. A positive comment that I have is for the one and only Kate Villeges! She is so willing to help people no matter what. For example, I had a question about a procedure form and she was so helpful with it and I couldn’t have been more grateful. Kate is honestly a little ray of sunshine that brightens the day. One change that I would like to see is more work days throughout the weeks. We have so much that we have to do and it would be a huge weight lifted with stress to be allowed to work on things during class so that we have the opportunity to ask questions and make mistakes. The impact that I’ve made is the power of laughter and smiles. I enjoy seeing other people be happy and joyous. I make it a goal then when it seems like someone is down that I can make their day just a little brighter by making them laugh and or smile.
December ASB meeting
Jacob Curless Junior Class Administrative Assistant 12-16-19 Asb Meeting
Currently in my position as the Junior Class administrative assistant I’ve attended all of the class meetings for this month and have taken all of the notes/what was discussed during the meeting. Also I’m supposed to be aware of the junior class funds which right now is around the 6,300 dollar amount. During the last meeting the officer team was discussing about buying items for winter fest and according to our budgets we will have enough in our funds to accomplish the goals that we have in mind Currently my standing committee is the renaissance cards that is run by Troy and Lydia. This past week or so-ish the renaissance cards have gone out/gotten made and that was a very smooth process, thanks to the facilitation and distribution of work by Troy and Lydia. Currently the special committee that I was a part of was the making of a slide show for the Valley Christian School of San Jose. Through this Committee a Partner and I were tasked with creating a slide that presented our topic. So I was given the partner of David Wang and we had the topic of Community service, in turn we made a great slide that didn’t get to be presented due to time constraints. Also I'm currently on the special committee of the valentine day hearts which is lead by Gracie. Through this committee my partner and I have to cut out 50 paper hearts and write a message on them for one of the students at RHS. That is going very smooth. The Concern that I would like to address is the excitement factor for the winterfest night rally. There was nobody there and just kinda a dead atmosphere. I don’t really know how to change that other then maybe announcing it more and hyping it up more to publicize the event. One positive comment that I would Like to leave is that Kate killed her presentation for the Valley Christian School and stepped in for one of her peers that was unable to make it due to a soccer tournament. To me that going above and beyond what was asked of her. One change that I would like to see is maybe 5 min in the beginning of the period to work in our journals. This would allow us as students to stay on task with it and allow the journals to be done with higher diligence. The Impact that I've made on this campus is making history. Last weekend I played in the state football game, that we won, to create history that has never happened at RHS. This was such a surreal feeling that I don’t know how to express.
January ASB Meeting
Jacob Curless 2-10-20 Junior Administrative Assistant ASB report January
Currently In my position of the Junior class Admin Assistant, I've gone to all of the class meetings and keep in check with all of the finances. The junior officer team took a trip to the River Mill( Prom venue) to get dinal little details taken care of and just tour the property. It was beautiful. I’ve taken notes at all of the class meetings for the month of January and there has been a decent amount due to the event of prom coming. My standing committee is the reinsurance and Link crew. Within the past month I've been working closely with Lydia to help with all of the renaissance cards/ applications. They went really smooth and we hope to get all of those cards and block R’s out by next week The special committee that I was a part of was the creation of the valentines day hearts for everybody here at Ripon High. My partner and I were given 50 names to write on a heart then write a positive message encouraging them. This was really smooth and my partner was really easy to work with. Also the organization of the whole event/project was awesome. One concern that I would like to address is the work ethic of certain people in the program, I feel as though there are certain people that will do anything for this program and those who do just enough to scrape by, It's just food for thought. My positive comment goes to Gracie Jamie, she was a rockstar in the organization and execution of the wall of hearts. It was very organized everybody knew what they were doing and it was very well put together through the leadership of Gracie. One change that I would like to see is the 5 minutes at the beginning of class to work on our journals. This would allow those to get their homework written down or to complete the category for the day, hopefully relieving stress. It would hopefully also make the journals much better quality work. The Impact that I’ve made on this campus is the fun campaign that I ran to become the senior class admin assistant. It was very fun and light-hearted, to keep everybody's spirits up. I just want everyone to have a great here at the world's greatest high school.
