Jacob Curless Senior Class Administrative Assistant 9/30/20
ASB report August and September
For my position I take care of the class of 2021 finances as well as take all of the minutes for the class meeting we have. Currently this year we have had a few meetings to discuss our senior shirts as well as senior sunrise. All of those minutes have been shared with the AD and all of the class officers. For our budget we don’t have an accurate hard copy of the class of 2021 budget because we aren’t allowed on campus but if I remember from last year we have about 7000 in the budget before we bought the shirts. My professional aspect of growth has come through my character because when this pandemic started I was all mad and had no motivation to do anything, but as we got further and further into the pandemic I started to not feel sorry for myself anymore and do something. When we got back to school I knew that things were going to be different but you just have to make the most out of it and after seeing all of the teachers and how they feel about it I knew that I wasn’t alone. One concern that I have thus far is the participation of the student body because we aren’t at school and nobody is going to dress up for spirit days because their friends aren’t there with them. One positive comment that I have for a certain individual is Gabrial Herra! He has been killing it in his job and has been going above and beyond the creativity scale when it comes to social media posts and Ideas. He’s killing it! My impact on the world/school environment has been that I always keep my camera on during the zooms because I know how much it means to the teachers to have a sort of familiar face that they can talk to instead of a screen.
October/November
Jacob Curless Senior Class Administrative Assistant 12/1/20
Position Assessment: The Senior class has been busy at work getting things in order for our senior gift that we are giving, We as a class have had many different meetings discussing the giant mural we are going to give. We as a class have had about 4 or 5 different meetings to discuss designs and we ran them past Morty and it's in admin hands as we speak. Also the senior class has started to give out the seniors that we ordered, plus we have plans to sell to the seniors that didn’t order/preorder theirs. As for the budget I currently do not have one due to not being in school, as of the one that I remember, we have about 8,000 dollars but the mural that we are talking about is going to cost around 6,000 dollars.
Professional Development: The ways that I have pushed myself into professional development is by taking the initiative in my classes and asking questions but also trying to work with different peers in each class. This whole thing is new at least coming back to school but my work ethic never changes and I haven’t changed my work ethic. Work Ethic can work wonders in the professional world because people notice work ethic and the attempt to get better rather than just being content with where you are.
Concern: One concern that I had/have is the going back to school aspect and how that is all going to work, with all of the new aspects/rules that we have to follow. I’m not going to lie, the “first day” didn’t feel like a first day, it just felt like we came back from a break. This whole thing is going to take a lot of getting used to but at least we are back in school and we have social interaction with other students face to wash instead of face to screen.
Positive Comment: I know that this is kind of counter intuitive but back to school was kind of nic getting to see everyone and getting personal interaction. It was a plus getting to see all of my teachers and witness their humor in person. Another plus was getting to sit in those desks that the Highschool has, I can’t really describe the feeling but it almost just felt right.
My Impact: The impact that I have made is following all of these new school rules we have to protect with covid. I see people during our breaks taking off their masks and socializing, I’m not saying that I don’t socialize I’m saying that I keep my mask on and respect teachers and how they follow these different rules with paper.
February/March

ASB Report Feb-March
Position Assessment: Within my position I am in charge of the budgets and minutes for the class, recently Budgets have gone down due to the finishing of our senior class gift of a mural on the D building. Also talking recently about minutes we as a class haven't had too many meetings, around the margin of 2-3, all minutes and notes from meetings have been shared with AD as well as class officers. Currently Homecoming is coming up and the classes only have a budget of $300 to spend on materials, for the senior class we are filling out purchase orders for Amazon and Walgreens. Everything is set in place and ready to go to kick off Homecoming.
Professional Development: Recently the whole class has been working onMock Interviews which includes picking a profession and “applying” for an open position within this company or corporation. The whole class has recently completed a mock resume as well as a mock cover letter for the position that they are applying to be. Also the class has completed coloring packets that have every letter of the alphabet in it and the students are asked to dive deep within themselves and pick an adjective/verb that describes them and why. All of these things have helped us grow as professionals by making us dive deeper into ourselves as well as teaching us how to write the proper cover letter and resume.
Concern/Change: One concern that I currently have is Homecoming because this is the first big event that has gone on while at school. Now it is amazing but it is also scary because you never know what could happen with decorations falling apart and student participation. Everything is a big toss up because of the lack of time we have had actually on campus/ in school.
Positive Comment: My positive comment is about Zoe Barba! She is absolutely killing it, she doesn't just have to worry about being the Vice president but also the president because our current president isn’t actually in the class with us. Zoe has been stressed a lot but she has kept up beat with a smile on her face. Zoe deserves all of the recognition that can be given.
My Impact: My impact within the campus is that I have been encouraging many people (mainly athletes whose sports are starting back up) to enjoy the moment and take everything in because before you know it it’ll be gone.
